What's in a Name for You???

"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet" is a popular reference to William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet, in which Juliet seems to argue that it does not matter that Romeo is from her rival's house of Montague, that is, that he is named "Montague." The reference is often used to imply that the names of things do not affect what they really are.

Since the vast majority of us had absolutely NO INPUT as to what our names (etched in stone for the rest of our days) would be

If given the opportunity to change your name... What would it be?

I am partial to Vladimir........

and not because that world renown Vladimir is so sweet, innocent and desirable. I just like the way it rolls off my tongue.... Vvvllladimir.....

Can't think of any name I'd rather have. I have always been happy with who I am.

That's reasonable... some are... but even a "stage name"?

I'd planned this as a fun game... looks like no one wants to play...

I've always been partial to the name "Jake"-- not so fond of "Jacob"-- but I do like "Jake".
Good name... thanks for playing along!.. Oh I've forgotten to tell you I am no longer a Gold member so I can't read your emails.

True and wretched story. My father wanted my first and middle name to be...Geronimo Kochief. How sad is that, and it would set the premise for our adversarial and volatile relationship. My mother only got him away from that by telling him she wanted me named after him. Long story short, I researched several years for just the right name that I thought fit me, and as soon as I was able and didn't need permission anymore, I legally changed the whole damn thing!
